In addition to live streaming video content, you are able to upload an existing video file, such as a pre-recorded eulogy or a slideshow presentation, in addition to your live streams. Viewers will be able to watch these directly from their device and they will appear in the playlist alongside the live stream(s).
To begin a recording upload, click the Recordings tab in your client file:
Click the Add button to begin adding a new Recording:
Click the Browse button to open your file browsing dialog box:
When your dialog box opens, browse to the file you wish to upload, select it and click Open. This dialog box will only allow you to select a single file:
Once you've selected a file, it should appear in the File area, you can now enter an optional title and then click the Save button to begin the upload:
The file will begin uploading. You can stop the upload at any time by clicking the Cancel Upload button:
The file upload / conversion process can take some time, depending on the size of the file, but once successful, the recording should appear in the list of recordings for your client. You can continue to add recordings by clicking the Add button and repeating the above process:
Notes
1. Supported video file types include .mp4, .mov, .m4v, .mkv or .ts
2. Video content is not supported in the Media library and must be uploaded as a new Recording
Troubleshooting
My upload is still processing
Please be patient. This may take some time depending on the quality of your internet connection and the number of other people also trying to upload a recording. However if it takes more than a few hours, there is likely an error. This can happen when the file you are trying to upload has become corrupted in the process of editing the video (even something as simple as trimming off the first few minutes of the recording). For those video buffs among us, this is often an error in the moov atom.
There are a number of possible solutions:
- Upload the original unedited version if possible
- Use a different program to edit the video
- Upload the video in a different format if you have one available
